Dr. Nick and his beautiful wife just came back from a trip to the Allergan plant in Costa Rica (Botox, breast implant and Juvederm Mecca!), where they got a full tour of the breast implant manufacturing process. Highly regulated, this plant (as well as all of the Allergan plants) inspect 100% of their raw materials before they are incorporated in the manufacturing process. From start to finish there were at least 30 steps in making an implant from importing the silicone from the United States to mixing to dipping, not to mention the quality assurance and inspections throughout the process. We were floored with the precision and intricacy that went into making these implants and would expect no less from the company we trust our patients' implants to.
