@Regrann from @drummergirlnancy - I'm sure men struggle with self-esteem and body image issues also, but I think women struggle with it to a far greater degree .. mostly because we feel there is more pressure on us to hold up to a very unrealistic version of female 'beauty'. The cost of comparing ourselves to media imaging (breasts bought and paid for - supplied by industries that have anything but our best interests at heart) is more than we bargained for when we get breast implants. Our breasts don't define us, our beauty or our worth… yet most of us have struggled with this, I'm sure. We reject ourselves at virtually every stage of life until we learn to love and except ourselves. This is a journey that's been a tough one for most of us. It took losing my health to breast implants before I finally learned to love myself. We need to have brave and honest conversations about body shame and self-rejection. This photo is of a woman who learned to love herself after breast cancer and reconstruction with breast implants… and losing her health two implants.
